Antique Child Children’s theater costume Vintage play Frick collection textile
Hello and welcome to the Textile Trunk! I wish so much I knew what play this was used for! This textile is an antique, American child’s costume dating c1900 this textile came from the collection of the Gradaughter of Frick, founder of the Frick museum in New York. This piece is made of black velvet and the cream toned fabric is a woven silk, heavy weight This costume is lined and there is a gorgeous gold satin trim around the inside edges. The collar is cotton, heavily stained with storage marks. There are metallic threads on the arms that would have been tied in a pattern at one point. This is a wonderful, rare textile. Ideal for any collection. Waist : 22 inches around. Sleeves 15 inches long. Chest is approximately 26-27 inches around. CONDITION : This lovely textile is in as found, not freshly laundered condition. There are dark storage stains on the collar. There are some small marks here and there, but generally it’s in lovely condition. The ties on the sleeves can be tied again in any pattern. Etsy Children’s clothing 78.
