Antique Vintage Halco Masquerade Costume Chinaman Circa 1940’s
These Halco (Halpern Company) began making Masquerade Costumes in the 1920’s. This Chinaman is roughly from 1937 to early 1940’s. The Costume will display extremely well on a mannequin or a wall. The overall condition of the Costume is very good for the age and is complete with: shirt, pants drawstring, and cap with a fake ponytail. There are some stains on the shirt and soiling from wear. One seams needs stitching. The box was written on and has labels from previous owner’s display next to the Costume. We strive to show accurate photos. Antique glove box trimmed with five pairs of antique gloves, leather and fabric, dating from the early to mid 20th century. Beautiful complete set, typical of the stylish women’s accessories of the time. The gloves are made of fine leather (probably kid) and fabric, with buttons, embroidery, and decorative details. This is one of those details that will win you the costume contest. Jacqueline used this exact type of cane when he played The Tramp. Same handle, same wangee bamboo material. Same time era exactly. Part of his act is how he flexes the cane. That’s what his cane was made from. It was for teachers or schoolmasters or gentlemen to carry for looks.
