Vintage 1930 Adult Halloween Flamenco Costume with Bolero Bottoms & Hat Size XL
So amazing that this set has stayed together and in such incredible condition! Professional construction from a lightweight mercerized cotton. The set features a bolero and flare leg pants, styled like beach pajamas and a matching flamenco hat with tassel ball fringe. The bolero and bottoms could easily be worn as everyday vintage garments or as beach pajamas all year round! The bolero top has pale terra cotta sleeves a black bodice with yellow hand painted detailing, RAINBOW stripe trim and a hook/eye closure. The bottoms have black legs with metalic ribbon stitched “sequin” detailing to the flare legs and a yellow sash tie waistband. The self tie sash is the only fastener for the bottoms with only a single hidden hook/eye beneath. The hat is done in a color block with a terra cotta crown, black brim, yellow trim and red ball fringe. The original owner added a piece of cardboard to the interior of the crown to help it sit more pert, the piece of cardboard is from an original saltine cracker box – such a neat little treasure in itself! Condition for all three pieces is listed as excellent, so shockingly good! I note zero damage to any of the pieces save for one ball missing from the hat fringe at the rear of the hat. All three pieces are structurally sound, 100% wearable with sturdy seams and not so much as a moth nibble. The terra cotta color fabric shows a touch of uniform lightening and a bit of mottling, likely from the age of a natural dye. The painted details may show very minor cracks. This set has not been professionally cleaned to preserve integrity. No overt stains, no noxious odors, some general notes of use noted only for a very thorough full disclosure, presentation is PERFECT! This listing is for the 4 very cool unused (or very little use) costume party hats with a cardboard brim of witch, jack o lantern (jol), black cat, owl, bat, stars. They have some really cool features… The rim is a harder plastic. The top part is a thinner plastic so you can shape the hoboness of this to be different for each person! – The cardboard bands are overall clean and stapled down onto the hats. You could actually replace that trim with trim of any holiday, but these are the original halloween bands. Rare to get a set of 4 like this. They measure approx 3.75 tall unless they are extended up. The rims measure approx 1.5. The circumference inside measures approx 20.75″ and 6.26″ x 6.75. In very good condition. Mask has two (2) minor edge cracks just under the chin, but no crushing & no major damage. Mask has some slight wear & signs of repeated use, including some age-tanned Cellophane tape residue stains at the two (2) minor cracks. Mask has its original elastic cord. Body-suit’s seam at the crotch has had the stitching carefully cut, likely to allow the child to use the bathroom. Body-suit & skull-cap have no rips & no tears; but both need ironing/pressing. Graphic image on the torso of the body-suit is clean & undamaged with bright gold glitter. There are several very tiny holes amongst the clown graphic in the body-suit’s fabric where the glitter is not screen-printed. Body-suit & skull-cap both have their original draw-strings. Box is in good condition with intact corners; but the cellophane is missing, one (1) side of the top has a tear & that same side is a little crushed. Any flaws, if present, will be either written about here OR visible in the photos. Examine ALL of the photos carefully, using the “SUPERSIZE” feature, as the photos often can illustrate the item’s condition better than any words can. Matching Fabric Dunce-Cap Skull-Cap: In excellent condition, but needs pressing/ironing. The “fire-retarded” fabric is dark blue & red with a lighter blue trim. The top of the cap is pointed like a dunce-cap. “Collegeville Costumes” Original Box. Box is in good condition with intact corners; but one (1) side of the top piece has a tear & that same side is a little crushed.
