Vintage 1950s handmade clown costume, constructed from thick, durable cotton fabric reminiscent of flour sack material. The outfit is adorned with playful red and blue appliqué shapes–circles, triangles, and squares, along with matching pom-poms on the front. Exaggerated puffed sleeves and a wide, pointed collar in contrasting colors. Elastic bands sewn into the wrists and ankles, giving it a classic, ballooned silhouette. Back is open and needs to be secured shut with safety pins. Costume displays wear and imperfections throughout, including loose stitches/shapes, a few holes in the seems (mainly in crotch area, although this looks intentional due to stray stitches), light staining and discoloration, marks, etc. Good for a small adult/large child.
