The Thing Latex Mask Bust Tharp Not Don Post Halloween Monster
Some years back, Don Post veteran, Cathy Tharp, produced one of the very best likenesses of actor James Arness, as The Thing from Another World. I was fortunate enough to get #2 out of the mold (see pic). This mask/bust was painted by Cathys husband, Rob Tharp, another Don Post Studios veteran. As you can see this is a beautiful mask with nice, crisp detail. The latex is in excellent condition, being cast fairly thick, actually thick enough to stand on its own, though I have kept it stuffed with paper and plastic bags. This is more of a latex bust than a mask and is not cut, nor is it meant for wearing.
